Bowen Technique
Service Description
The Bowen Technique is a gentle, hands-on therapy that supports the body’s innate ability to heal and rebalance itself. Using light rolling movements over muscles, tendons, and fascia, Bowen therapy stimulates the nervous system to reset and release tension often leading to fast lasting relief from pain and discomfort. Unlike massage or chiropractic adjustments Bowen is non-invasive and deeply relaxing. It’s suitable for all ages and can be effective for both acute injuries and chronic conditions. What Happens During a Treatment? During your Bowen session, you’ll lie comfortably on a massage table (or be seated if necessary) remaining fully clothed. The practitioner performs a series of gentle targeted moves on specific areas of the body such as the back, neck, shoulders, or limbs. After a few moves there are short pauses where the practitioner leaves the room or allows you to rest. These pauses are key they give your body time to respond, integrate the changes, and begin rebalancing on its own. A typical session lasts 30 to 60 minutes and many people notice improvements within 1 to 3 sessions. Common Conditions Addressed: Musculoskeletal pain – back, neck, shoulders, hips, knees, ankles Postural issues – scoliosis, pelvic tilt, uneven leg length Joint restrictions – frozen shoulder, TMJ dysfunction, carpal tunnel Nerve-related symptoms – sciatica, neuralgia, headaches, migraines Stress and fatigue – insomnia, anxiety, adrenal fatigue Digestive and respiratory issues – IBS, reflux, asthma, sinus congestion Women’s health – menstrual pain, hormonal imbalance, fertility support Who Is It Suitable For? It is ideal for: Those seeking a gentle alternative to deep massage or manipulation Individuals with chronic pain or long-standing conditions People recovering from injury or surgery Clients dealing with stress, fatigue, or emotional overwhelm Children and babies with colic, feeding issues, or developmental concerns Pregnant women looking for natural relief from discomfort Because it works with the body rather than on it, Bowen is also a great option for those who are sensitive, frail, or managing complex health conditions.
